Wrist warmers

I learned how to make these crochet wrist warmers thanks to Karen from Craftmania with her beginners classes.

I then adapted the pattern to suit different sizes and colour schemes.

New home card

This project was Inspired by Mags Woodcock a designer for docrafts.

This is the link to her creation.

I made this for my bother and sister in law as a new home mini scrapbook for them to put their own memory's in.

March 2015 create a card kit challenge entry

This was my entry for April.

The design brief was to make a Mother's Day card using the items in the kit, only this month it also stated that extra points would be given if a brown wooden bead and some green decopatch paper was used too!
For this card I opened up an A5 card from the kit and folded each side in half, I then cut the corners of the card and joined to the edges. Then using the pieces of the kit I decorated the card with the lace rub ons, ribbon, embelishments, peal offs and papers. I used tea dye distress ink around the edges of the card.
The wooden bead I painted with white acrylic paint and used a punch to create a rosette and the little tiny flowers I stuck to the bead came out of the punch.
The decopatch paper I made into the bunting thats running along the middle of the card.
I really enjoyed making this months!

Quilled necklace

This is a necklace that I quilled for my Mum on one of her birthdays.
I wanted to have a go at quilling jewellery so I quilled some tight circles of similar shades of colour then added the black to finish each one off and I painted it with PVA glue to stiffen and keep it all together. I quilled a circle and made a hole in the middle for the cord to go through.

Black and White

1/4/15
This weeks card lesson Black and White.

Created and taught by the very talented Jamie Rodgers at Craftmania. Lots of stencilling and stamping in this lesson!

Loved making this card especially as it was the first time I've ever used glossy accents and I also enjoyed building the flower.

February 2015 create a card kit challenge entry

This was my entry for February's card challenge.

The design brief was to make a mans steampunk card using the items provided in the kit. I decided to make an easel card for this challenge. I used a sizzix cog dye to cut cog shapes out of the paper and distressed the cut out cogs with walnut stain to stick them on later. I used the clock stamp provided to make two clocks using gold embossing powder, left one whole and cut the other one for a different effect. The flowers were also distressed with walnut stain. I used the clock stamp on the base of the card with spiced marmalade distress ink. The wooden cogs I distressed with shaded lilac as well as the background on the card and put some gilding flakes around the cogs. The cord I just croched a simple chain to give it a chain effect on the card.

March 2014 create a card kit challenge entry

My first ever go at Craftmania's create a card challenge kit!

The design brief was to make a card for a 6 year old girls birthday using the items provided in the kit. Being fairly new to card making I layered up the butterflies with foam pads and sew the buttons and sequins onto the card! I think it turned out ok though sadly I didn't win that week as there is tough competition :)

The little yellow duck project.

What is the Little Yellow Duck Project?

The Little Yellow Duck Project involves people around the world handcrafting little yellow duck gifts as random acts of kindness that are left in public places for others to find. A special tag on each one invites the finder to take their gift home to brighten their day and to visit this website to register where they found their gift. We hope that the stories and information found here will encourage them to pledge their own random act of kindness by registering to donate blood, bone marrow, organs tissues.

The little yellow duck project.
Here are some of the little ducks I have croched for the cause.
